The Houston Business Journal, Rice Alliance and PKF Texas honored CAP5 Technology Solutions, LLC, at the sixth annual FastTech50 Awards ceremony. For achieving a whopping 68% revenue growth rate from FY04-05, CAP5 placed #30 in a field of over 340 technology companies nominated. Cosponsors of the event held at the Hilton Americas hotel also included Oracle Corporation, Frost Bank and Pierpont Communications.
Greg Price, Director of Consulting Services for the regional CPA firm, PKF Texas, chaired the high-energy competitive event and congratulated the executives of CAP5 for providing business leadership and keeping the entrepreneurial spirit alive in Houston . “This was by far the most difficult year to make the Fast Tech 50,” Price commented. “The cutoff rate for even making the list was over 35% revenue growth!”
CAP5 President, Tony Hodgson, accepted the award on behalf of the company. “I speak for our entire executive team in saying we’re very proud of our employees, and the customers and partners who made this possible.” Hodgson noted that one factor contributing to their success is the spirit of camaraderie and commitment each person on the CAP5 team provides. “Throughout my career, from work with NASA, the State of Texas , and starting two previous software firms, I’ve worked with extraordinary people. Our CAP5 team is great. We love what we do, and it shows in our results.”
Chairman of the Board at CAP5, Stanley Keith, discussed some of the factors that helped CAP5 reach this point, “I’ve been fortunate to assist in the growth of several high-tech ventures, including working with Bindview, Sprint E!Solutions and MortgageNet. I believe our focus at CAP5 on building and maintaining customer relationships sets us apart from the field. When we begin to really take care of a client, the loyalty – and revenue growth - follows.”
The CEO of CAP5 is Lance Griffith, a veteran of building ground-breaking computer networks and applications. After working as Director of I.T for the US Air Force PacRim, and growing an I.T. professional services firm in Colorado , Lance joined Paranet, another Houston success story. “The experience watching Paranet grow and eventually being purchased by Sprint Corporation was quite impactful.” He explained, “I’ve seen how the Houston business community fosters the birth of many exciting, high-tech ventures. Now, with CAP5, we’re taking advantage of the same fertile marketplace to succeed.”
Lance explained how other local firms can get involved more involved in the business community, “The next major event for CAP5 is to participate in the Houston Networking News EXPO at the Reliant Center , November 16th. This is going to be a huge event in terms of the participants, speakers and business opportunities.”
Lance believes that taking the initiative to attend these success- and business-oriented conferences is a jump-start for additional revenue growth. “I’d encourage everyone to come visit the CAP5 booth at the HNN EXPO, and to register to not only attend, but participate. Perhaps your spot on the next Fast Tech 50 list is waiting for you!
